Pakistani maritime security forces arrested 22 Indian fishermen and impounded four boats for illegally entering into the country’s territorial waters in the Arabian sea.

巴基斯坦海上安全部隊逮捕22名印度漁民與沒收4艘船隻，因為他們違法進入該國位於阿拉伯海的領海。

The arrests were made 50 km inside Pakistan’s exclusive economic zone waters, an official said.

逮捕行動是在巴基斯坦專屬經濟區水域內50公里處進行，一名官員說。

"The Indian fishermen were warned time and again not to indulge in illegal fishing but they repeatedly violate the laws," said security official, Atiq-ur-Rehman.

「印度漁民一再被警告不得擅自非法捕魚，但他們再三違反法律，」安全官員瑞曼說。

"The Indian fishermen repeatedly come into our economic zone to explore our rich fishing resources," he said.

「印度漁民屢次進入我們的經濟海域探索我們豐富的漁業資源，」他說。

The two South Asian rivals frequently arrest each other’s fishermen for intruding into territorial waters despite a thaw in relations since they launched a peace process in early 2004.

這兩個南亞宿敵時常以闖入領海為由逮捕對方的漁民，儘管雙方自2004年初推動和平進程後關係已經解凍。

In September last year, Pakistan and India exchanged 687 civilian prisoners, most of them fishermen.

去年9月，巴基斯坦與印度交換687名平民囚犯，其中大多數是漁民。
