German designer Karl Lagerfeld shrugged off concerns about the fashion industry’s obsession with ultra-thin models, noting countries such as France rather had problems with a rise in overweight people.

德國服裝設計師卡爾．拉格斐不在乎外界對於時尚工業著迷於超瘦模特兒的關切，指稱法國等國家反而有超重人數上升的問題。

Madrid last month sparked a controversy when it banned excessively thin models from its catwalks after accusations their appearance may cause eating disorders in young women.

馬德里上個月因為禁止過瘦模特兒上伸展台而引發爭議。這些過瘦模特兒被控其（纖瘦）外型可能會引發年輕女性飲食失調。

But the runways in Paris this week have been filled by girls with child-like figures and stick-thin legs.

但本週在巴黎的伸展台上，卻充斥著宛如兒童體態以及雙腿纖細如棍的女孩。

"We don’t see anorexic（girls）.The girls are skinny.They have skinny bones," Lagerfeld told reporters after his show, which saw models parade out in tiny short dresses, barely covering their almost non-existent behinds.

「我們沒看到厭食（女孩）。這些女孩很瘦，她們很骨感，」拉格斐在他的服裝發表會後如此告訴記者，他的服裝發表會上，有許多穿著勉強包住幾乎不存在的屁股的緊身短裙的模特兒列隊（走秀）。

shrug off：片語，對…滿不在乎，對…不予理睬，對…不屑一顧；擺脫，抖落。shrug，動詞／名詞，聳肩。例句：Mary just couldn’t shrug off her petty troubles and kept crying.（瑪莉無法對自己的小煩惱一笑置之而且一直哭泣。）

obsession：名詞，著迷；困擾人的情緒／思想／衝動；著魔，鬼迷。例句：A lot of unmarried middle-aged men got a sick obsession with teenage girls.（許多未婚中年男子迷戀少女。）

barely：副詞，僅僅，只不過；簡直沒有。例句：He could barely say a word when he was scolded by his boss.（他被老闆罵的時候幾乎說不出一句話來。）

anorexic ：名詞，罹患厭食症（anorexia ）者，亦可當形容詞，指厭食的、沒有食慾，與anorectic意思相同。
