Bosnian director Jasmila Zbanic's award-winning "Grbavica"─a film about a woman who tells her daughter the girl's father was a rapist during the Bosnian war─drew tears, applause and a standing ovation at its Sarajevo premiere.

Many sobbed openly as they watched 31-year-old Zbanic's film, which won the Berlin film festival's top prize, the Golden Bear, last month. The film is about a single mother, Esma, who gave birth to her daughter after she was raped repeatedly while a prisoner in a Bosnian-Serb war camp.
