《中英對照讀新聞》Hotel group clears the air with smoking ban 旅館集團頒布禁菸令藉以清新空氣
The days of lighting up a cigarette while relaxing in your hotel room will go up in smoke at one major hotel group later this year.
Marriott International announced that, come September, all of its hotel rooms, restaurants and meeting rooms in the United States and Canada, as well as all public and employee areas in those hotels, will be entirely smoke-free.
"Creating a smoke-free environment demonstrates a new level of service and care for our guests and associates," JW Marriott Junior, Marriott International’s chairman and chief executive, said in a statement.
But the smoke-free rule will not change much at the hotels, since smoking is already banned in more than 90 percent of the hotel group’s rooms.
