The Saudi government warned store owners recently that they have two months to comply with a decree banning men from selling lingerie and other women's apparel or face punishment.

沙烏地阿拉伯政府最近警告店家說，他們有兩個月的時間配合一項法令，這項法令禁止男人賣女性內衣和其他女性服飾，違者將面臨處罰。

In ads published in several Saudi papers, the ministry of labour called on all woman's clothing shop owners to comply with the decree issued two years ago "in order to increase employment opportunities for Saudi women."

在多家沙國報紙刊登的廣告上，勞工部呼籲所有女性服飾店的店主配合這項兩年前頒布的法令，「以增加沙國女性的就業機會」。

"Penalties and fines will be levied against store owners and male clerks who violate the ban," said a statement by the ministry adding that it will go into effect on June 19.

「違反這項禁令的店家和男性員工將遭到處罰和罰款，」勞工部的一項聲明說。還說，這項禁令將從6月19日起生效。

The decree also says that stores selling lingerie must conceal that section from the rest of the shop in compliance with the ultra-conservative kingdom's strict segregation of the sexes.

這項法令並且表示，賣女性內衣的商店必須把女性內衣區隱蔽起來，和店內其他地方區隔開來，以配合極端保守的沙國嚴格分隔兩性的國情。

A number of Saudi women had expressed disquiet at having to buy their underwear from men, Saudi papers reported. At a meeting held recently, Saudi business owners pleaded with deputy labour minister Abdulwahid al-Humaid to delay enforcing the ban to give them a chance to train women to work in stores.

據沙國報紙報導，一些沙國婦女曾表示必須向男性買內衣令她們不自在。在最近舉行的一場會議上，沙國商家店主懇請勞工部副部長胡馬伊暫緩執行這項禁令，好讓他們有機會訓練店內的女性員工。
