Young George W. Bush once worked on a sheep farm in Scotland and was mistaken by an American tourist as a "little Scottish boy."

少年布希一度在蘇格蘭的一處牧羊場打工，並被一名美國觀光客誤認為「蘇格蘭小男童」。

The president disclosed his presence in Scotland as a youth in talking to European journalists during a round-table interview ahead of his Europe trip .

布希總統披露他年少時期的蘇格蘭經驗，是在前往歐洲訪問之前，與歐洲記者的一場圓桌專訪上。

He said: "I worked there as a 14-year-old kid. I left Texas for Scotland to work on a sheep farm. And I'm riding a bike, taking this one sheep, you know, from here to there, and a big tour bus stops. And they got off and a woman with a Texas accent said, 'look at the little Scottish boy."

他說：「我還是個十四歲小孩時，曾在那裡工作。我離開德州前往蘇格蘭，在一個牧羊場工作。有一天我騎著腳踏車，帶著一頭羊，你們知道的，從這裡到那裡。後來，一輛大型遊覽車停下來，有人下車，然後一名操著德州腔的婦女說：『瞧那個蘇格蘭小男孩。』」

Bush, who himself has a Texas twang, said he did not let on that he was an American. "I kept my mouth shut," he said.

布希本身講話也有德州鼻音腔，但他說他並未讓人家知道他是美國人。他說：「我閉上嘴沒有說話。」
