Running the country is all well and good, but Tony Blair still wonders if he could have made it as a rock star.

"I've always wondered, could I have actually ever done it," the one-time lead singer of a rock band called the Ugly Rumours, more recently prime minister, told his former bass player in an interview.

「我一直很好奇，我當初能否辦到，」一度擔任搖滾樂團「醜陋謠言」主唱，目前是英國首相的布雷爾，在一場專訪這麼告訴他的前貝斯手。

"I was quite serious about it. It wasn't just a mere dalliance -- it was a bit more than that for me," Blair told ex-bass player Mark Ellen. Excerpts of the interview for Word magazine were printed in The Times.

"With politics, it all clicked into place for me somehow. Whereas with music you had to have a particular set of attitudes that I didn't quite have, and it never happened for me even though I was desperately keen to carry on."

wonder：動詞，意思是感到好奇、想知道。例句：He wondered what was going on.（他想知道發生什麼事。）

dalliance：名詞，意指嬉戲、玩笑、浪費時間。例句：Do not spend your working hours in dalliance.（工作時切勿浪費時間。）
