Britain's top clothing retailer Marks & Spencer recently recalled thousands of items of childrenswear after sewing needles were found still attached to the garments.

英國首屈一指的服飾零售商「馬莎百貨」，在被人發現童裝裡有縫紉針頭後，最近回收上萬件的童裝。

Marks & Spencer said it issued the recall of 12,000 items after sewing machine needles were found in children's trousers in four isolated cases and two youngsters suffered scratches.

馬莎百貨說，在分別發現有四件童褲裡藏有縫紉機針頭以及兩名小孩遭到擦傷後，該公司下令回收一萬二千件服飾。

The retailer is investigating how the needles were left inside the clothes made by a Sri Lankan manufacturer.

這家零售商正在調查針頭是如何留在由斯里蘭卡製造商所製造的這批衣服內。

The recall covers four different lines of childrenswear. M&S said no other products were affected.

這項回收活動涵蓋四款不同的童裝。馬莎百貨說，其他產品不受影響。

"It may seem overly cautious to do a recall but we want to put customer safety first. All those items have also been taken off display in stores," said a M&S spokeswoman.

Last month the company posted a 19 percent fall in annual profit, adding that its share of the UK clothing market had slipped half a percentage point to 10.5 percent.
