Pope John Paul and rock star Bono are among 166 nominees for the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize, with relief groups helping victims of the Indian Ocean tsunami among the favourites.

教宗若望保祿與搖滾歌手波諾，同時名列一百六十六位被提名角逐二○○五年諾貝爾和平獎的候選人，其中以協助印度海嘯災民的救援團體最被看好。

"We have received 166 nominations so far, of which 29 are organisations," the director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute, Geir Lundestad,told Reuters. "The geographical scope is wide."

「我們目前收到一百六十六件提名，其中二十九件被提名者是組織，」挪威諾貝爾機構執行長吉爾•龍德斯塔向路透表示。「（被提名人的）地理範圍分布廣泛（即來自世界各地）」。

Some names have been made public or leaked privately by people nominating them. Former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell was also among them.

有些被提名人的姓名，已被提名者公開或私下透露出去。美國前國務卿柯林•鮑威爾就是其中之一。

But many Nobel watchers believe the 2005 award will go to an individual or a group involved with relief efforts after the devastating Dec. 26 tsunami, such as Save the Children or Oxfam.

不過，許多諾貝爾獎觀察家相信，二○○五年的（諾貝爾和平）獎，會頒給參與十二月二十六日造成嚴重破壞的海嘯的災後救援工作的個人或團體，像是「拯救兒童」或Qxfam。
