It's not just ``The Big Apple'' anymore. New York now also wants to be known as ``The World's Second Home.''

不再只是「大蘋果了」了，紐約市如今也希望以「世界第二個家」聞名。

The phrase is among several items the city is seeking to trademark through applications filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, said Katherine Winningham, a senior city attorney specializing in trademark law.

專研商標法的資深市府律師凱薩琳•溫寧漢說，這個用語，是該市正尋求透過向美國專利商標局提出的申請案，來註冊商標的數個項目之一。

The trademarks would give the city exclusive rights to use the phrases or images to promote business and tourism.

The application was filed in December, and it will likely take two years for the city to receive any designation, Winningham said Thursday. The city has up to three years to decide if it wants to use any newly protected phrases, she said.
