No charges will be filed against paparazzi who besieged actress Reese Witherspoon in April, a prosecutor leading a broader probe into possible misconduct by celebrity-stalking photographers said.

4月包圍女星瑞絲•薇絲朋的狗仔隊，不會遭到起訴，一名主持對跟蹤名流的攝影記者的可能不當之舉進行更廣泛調查的檢察官表示。

William Hodgman of the Los Angeles District Attorney's office said there were no grounds for action in the Witherspoon incident.

The "Legally Blonde" star reported being terrified in April when a swarm of photographers surrounded her as she left her gym and chased her until she reached her Los Angeles home.

Police looked into possible false imprisonment charges, but "there was insufficient evidence overall to support the filing of charges," Hodgman said.

Authorities said in June the broader probe was a response to cases in which photographers banded together to provoke celebrities, then capture their reaction on film."
